 Take a glimpse into our world of performing arts while partaking in our daily Cultural Performance.  Let our local performers serenade you with melodious song & dance pertaining to our people, including the fiery, world famous ‘Haka’, Poi & Ti Rakau (stick).

A once in a lifetime experience into Maori history & legends passed down through generations using song, hand, eye & body movements.

 

 

Whakarewarewa Village Cultural Performances

The Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao people have a proud history of sharing their stories through song and dance spanning over a century.  Relax in our performance area as we take you on an historic journey using song & dance, stick games, hand, eye & body movements to tell their stories, myths & legends.

Performance Time:

11.15am DAILY – 12.30pm and 2pm shows available in conjunction with Cruise Ship arrivals.  Please call us for more information.

Please note that from 1st May 2024 our daily performance time is at 12.30pm, this replaces the 11.15am performance.

Health and Safety: Please note that all visitors to our Village will be notified of any NZ Health Department processes and procedure in relation to Covid-19 best-practice guidelines and anyone who breaches these guidelines will be asked to immediately leave the Village property.

Whaka Geothermal Trails

Our new geothermal nature trails provide exclusive access to an untouched geothermal landscape where Visitors can experience the raw nature of Papatuanuku (mother-earth). The Jurassic park-like landscape are described as providing regenerative powers as You find yourself face-to-face with Nature, Hot Spring Lakes, Mud Pools and native manuka bushlands.Please note that there is no access to Pohutu Geyser on our Geothermal Trails.

All Day Pass

Our All-Day Pass gives YOU, our guests the opportunity to experience everything Geothermal & Maori Cultural at Rotorua's most Iconic Living Maori Village, Whakarewarewa.You will join one of our Iconic Village Guided Tours at either 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm or 3pm. Attend our daily cultural performance at 11.15am and spend as much time as you desire exploring our self-guided Geothermal Trails. An experience ideal for the entire family with views of the mighty Pohutu Geyser & tasting corn cooked in our largest hot pool, being just a couple of highlights on our village guided tour, to joining in with audience participation at our cultural performance and taking a leisurely stroll through the untouched landscape that is our Geothermal Trails.
