Whakarewarewa & The Duck Tour Combo

Experience the journey of the Māori! Explore the stunning Rotorua’s lakes district our ancients called home via a guided Duck tour, then enjoy a traditional lunch and cultural experience at Whakarewarewa – the Living Māori Village.

Rotorua is most famous for its geothermal wonders, rich cultural history, heritage and spectacular lakes and volcanoes. Experience them all in a single day with our unique Duck Tour & Whakarewarewa Combo.

Begin by exploring Rotorua’s heritage buildings, natural hot springs and stunning lakes by amphibious vehicle with Rotorua Duck Tours on a Rotorua City & Lakes tour. Soak up fascinating stories of old from your entertaining Conductor, and enjoy two fun ‘splashdowns’ on Lake Tikitapu and Lake Okareka without leaving your seat.

From there, you’ll be dropped off to Whakarewarewa – the Living Māori Village. Home to two sub-tribes, Maori have lived here for hundreds of years and ‘Whaka’ (as it is known by locals) is a real living community that’s steeped in heritage, culture and geothermal wonders. On arrival, enjoy some delicious kai (food) for lunch, and then check out the world-famous Pōhutu Geyser, as well as explore the steaming pools, bubbling mud and traditional carvings of the village. At 2 pm, join the guided tour, and end your day with an engaging and interactive Māori cultural performance.

At 3 pm, you’ll be picked up and transported back to the centre of town*.

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy a number of Rotorua’s most unique and impressive experiences rolled into one, with transport* and lunch taken care of.
